BDSM is bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism. Umbrella term for a bunch of different fetishes all lumped together for similarities. The names kind of sum them up nicely.

You'll find most wizards a lot more fussy about sharing their secrets. even I get kinda antsy about the idea. never anything personal, it's just kind of a thing

I can write you up a primer on it if you want. Gimme a bit, info can vary depending on what you're after. Do you want specifics on a particular category or just a general idea of everything?

There are those who keep their research private until they can publish it, or those that hide their forbidden magicks from the public eye for safety reasons.

Aside from black and white magic, the only taboo I am aware of is those of different species being romantically involved. This is something highly frowned upon by at least seven nations, though there are no laws against it.

sounds normal. magic can be an incredibly competitive field, and everyone's vying to be the next top dog. scrolls and ink for this sort of thing are also outrageously expensive, so not only is it profitable to create your own, you can sell what you develop for a nice sum of gold. it's a bit like art in that sense.

damn though, that's bull. can't say that's a widespread problem on my world- too many different types of folks around, in or out of government, to police that shit. usually it's how you act that gets you shanked, not who you're boning. though there's always assholes who'll use any excuse to get under your skin.

and sure, I'll throw something together. can't think of a return atm, but if you're the sort of person who's bothered by that, I'll keep that in mind next time I need a favour.

Supplies can certainly add up in costs. Luckily I had learned enough basic alchemy to craft my own aetherial inks, else I would have been in a bad spot.

There are more sapient races in my home worlds than I can list in a single breath, so it is incomprehensible to me why such a taboo exists. Though at least no one seems to care a wit who you bone — only who you wish to love.

I'm glad that doesn't seem to be a problem around here, far as I can tell. Not that I've seen a huge amount of unusual hookups, but when it happens nobody really bats an eye.
